Sydney Metro Northwest Places focuses on creating diverse, well-designed places for current and future communities.
From 15 December 2023 until 23 February 2024 we invited the local community to help design the open spaces they'll enjoy for years to come.
The new communities that will grow along the Metro Northwest rail line will enjoy world-class public transport, high-quality parks, cycling connections, walking paths, play spaces and sporting grounds easily accessible to all.
We are now in the process of collating your feedback, and submitting the Development Application to The Hills Shire Council. Once submitted and it goes on public display, we will come back to the community to let you know how your feedback has been considered.
Landcom and Sydney Metro are working together to develop the land around the Bella Vista and Kellyville stations. These projects are part of the broader Sydney Metro North West Places Program that will create new neighbourhoods along the Metro Northwest rail line.
A concept masterplan has been approved for each precinct, including the location and preliminary designs for new open spaces. Help shape plans for new parks, playgrounds and green spaces
Bella Vista and Kellyville are both unique places, we recognise it’s important to plan spaces where the community can relax, exercise, play, be creative or meet with friends and family.

A Safe and Connected Community
A welcoming neighbourhood that creates a sense of belonging and security whilst being connected to the wider local community of quality schools and local lifestyle amenities. We aim to create resilient communities with shared spaces, and encourage community support and engagement.
Sustainability & Innovation
We aim to create resilient spaces harnessing innovation and a commitment to a sustainable community for all. We aim to increase urban canopy and city greening - with a minimum 30% site canopy coverage through implementation of trees and ‘green’ canopy structures to mitigate heat.
Harmony With Nature
Biophilic design principles influence the urban design, balancing built form with natural landscape. Supported by generous open spaces, vegetated corridors and selective tree-planting to enhance the beauty of the site. We aim to create a Green Heart to the development with an emphasis on tree canopy, natural materials and sustainability.
A Healthy Lifestyle
A site designed for a healthy, positive lifestyle with public spaces, active linkages, sporting facilities and nearby access to township amenities and transport. We aim to enhance the existing site with connections to existing reserves and the wider context.
