What does the proposal allow for?
- around 375 additional apartments, bringing the total number of apartments to approximately 1,625.
- an increase in building height to allow varied heights of select buildings of between 9 and 24 storeys across the site.
- rezoning of Bow Bowing Creek from R4 High Density Residential to RE1 Public.
No changes have been made to the previously approved development footprint, road layout, building setbacks or open space provisions.
Why have the changes been made?
The changes will:
- make the most of the site’s location close to public transport services and shops.
- provide much-needed additional housing within one of the fastest growing areas in Sydney.
- increase housing choices with a range of apartments sizes.
- increase the amount of affordable rental housing available at Macarthur Gardens North.
